Who are we
It is a part of Garuda’s DNA to create balance between people. This ambition was with us from the beginning in 1982 when Finn Havaleschka (pictured here) founded Garuda. The foundation of Garuda was based on the personality tests that became a standardised part of the job interviews conducted in the 1970s. These tests originated from psychology studies that screened for certain mental illnesses and were used – unaltered – to assess whether the employee was suitable for the job or not.
Finn Havaleschka found this problematic. With his experience and education within the field of social science, he sat out to develop an accessible job interviewing tool that was produced solely for the business community and that would help employees and employers understand each other – and themselves – better. The idea resulted in the first draft of the CompetenceProfile.
Job interviewing tools create balance between people
Many more HR-solutions followed. Common for all is that they are HR and job interviewing tools – not tests. The tools do not present right or wrong answers but help in assessing if the employee fits the implications of the given job. The idea of creating a harmonious workplace is the real essence of all that we work for here at Garuda.
All our tools are constructed to create balance between people. This means that our personality must agree with the given job and the colleagues we are surrounded by. If the personality does not comply with the given job, it can lead to stress, lack of motivation and, when all comes to all, it could result in a resignation.
We firmly believe that successful management is founded on a base of empathy, trust and integrity – and we believe that it is way easier to adjust the job to the personality rather than to adjust the personality for the job. Especially if you want to create balance between people.
