The Head-Heart-Leg™ model

Garuda’s profile tools use the Head-Heart-Leg™ model to create a common language in the organization, making the dialogue about person profiles and competencies simpler and more fruitful.

The Head-Heart-Leg™ model

All Garuda’s profiling tools are structured around our Head-Heart-Bone™ model.
The model is simple and makes it easier to see and understand the main lines of the analysis results.
With the Head-Heart-Bone™ model, the organization has a common language, and the dialogue about personal profiles and professional competencies becomes equal – and thus more profitable for all parties

Characteristics of the Head
The ability to analyze, ideate, structure and organize.

Characteristics of the Heart
The ability to collaborate, gain acceptance of ideas and establish trust relationships.

Characteristics of the Leg
The ability to take independent responsibility for results and implement solutions.

Understanding the Competence Profile with the Head-Heart-Leg™ model

At Garuda, we use the Head-Heart-Leg™ model to illustrate the 16 traits of the Competence Profile. In this interview guide, we focus on ‘system flexibility’, ‘holistic orientation’ and ‘abstract thinking’. The questions are behavioral questions that examine the candidate’s past actions in concrete, work-related situations. This helps predict future behavior and ensure the candidate is a good fit for the desired competency areas.
